Let there be TORRENT!

30days_wfall_bridge_c-745325

And finally we have the be all and end all of solutions to dead links, the first LWB batch torrent! No expense has been spared to place all current translated works in this torrent. It’s a big folder with all the zip files individually named, so if you’re after one or two just download the ones you want. Be aware that I’m likely to be the only person seeding for a while, so it might take a bit to download stuff. Feel free to share the torrent around too, the more people we get on it the better it works.

The torrent currently resides at Hongfire. Suggestions for secondary upload places of permanence (ie. NOT Rapidshare and friends) are welcomed.

Please note that scanned works are not included, and I have no real intention of including them. I don’t keep them together in a nice little folder like I do with translations, and to be honest I don’t really care that much about what happens to them. They’re just a sometimes necessary side-project when I can’t find scans that I want.

Also, while I’ve been downloading torrents for years, this is the first time I’ve actually created one. Please let me know if you have problems or it fucks up, and I’ll try and fix it. Enjoy!

    Excellent! Thank you!

Hopefully it’ll stay seeded for years to come :)

I think Anirena is good, and there is also Nyaatorrents.

Torrent doesn’t seem to find any working trackers. hongfire “HTTP ERROR 500″’s and there are 0 seeds.

I’m still uploading it to people, and I can see 11 seeds and 9 leechers. Hongfire has always shown 0 seeds/0 leechers for some reason, but it still seems to work.

HTTP 500 is an internal server error that implies that something is broken at hongfire. But it totally depends on if you’re getting that on the forum page, downloading the torrent file or from the tracker.

I got some suggestions for the torrent and also on how to keep it alive.

The attention tip: post it somewhere that it’ll get attention. Don’t just place it on a forum in a secluded thread and hope it’ll seed by itself. HongFire is definitely not a good place to share torrents. Try Something like deadfrog, DeltaAnime, puretna even, other XXX sites like empornium and such. /t/ is always a must. The more people that are aware of it, more activity it’ll have and the longer it will last.

The everywhere tip: don’t just use one tracker. The above sites are meant to be added all to the torrent’s tracker info, don’t just consider one. What I’d suggest you do is upload the torrent to as many sites you can think of or have access to (considering the torrent’s content) and add these trackers to the torrent. You don’t have to re-upload the torrent on the blog in order to activate the new trackers, DHT hook’s everybody up. Or you could edit the post and specify what new trackers were added and have everybody add them manually to the torrent.

The reviving tip: some people miss out on a torrent. If you make news of it again a decent amount of users will download it and keep it alive for a while longer. Don’t keep it stored in a forum because hardly anybody looks at old threads unless they’re scavenging and making collections. Consider posting and reposting on /t/.

I know a bit about this so I hope it helps.

Firstly, thanks for the batch torrent. Very much appreciated, after all the frustration of negotiating through the hoops at the direct download links.

But I agree with Zhelkus, I had no idea you had a batch torrent up; I only saw it after coming here on a whim. At the very least, post it up at http://www.tokyotosho.info. Your torrent will get much more awareness that way. Nyaatorrents has been mentioned and it’s a very popular site as well. Most torrents posted there tend to get listed at tokyotosho later.

This is good advice guys, thanks. The next torrent will be much better as a result. I’m unlikely to spend time reposting the torrent after it’s initially created, as I’d rather spend that time translating. But anything I can do up front to make the torrent more stable/faster and more widely distributed has to be a good thing.
